Lockheed D-21 Drone 1:35 Scale

While waiting for the release of Kens SR-71 I was doing some research and found this little guy mentioned a lot. It was a camera drone that was launched off the the back of the A-12 which was the basis for the SR-71 design. I designed this in Sketchup and made it same scale as Kens model so I can mount it . Not quite finished with the design yet , but have got all the formers and panels worked out. I have one pic that shows the progression of the design. I guess I'll do a build on this in the aviation forum as soon as I print it and get the kinks out. Here are some pics of the model at the present moment. Enjoy...

Would anyone have the markings/labels to the maintenance hatches? I do not have close enough reference photos. For example, on the starboard lower section just outside the equipment bay, I am able to barely make out: "Warning - - - Hatch Lift Cart must be in place before Latch(Hatch?) Release". Generally the markings are the same for each D21, but I have noticed that they varied depending on the mission.

Mldixon: Are you accounting for the little bulge for the equiptment bay?
And will there be a booster in the picture? (not to worry, it is easy enough that I can scratch one of these.)

I was wondering if anyone else would try the D21?
Been sitting on these designs for two months now!

These are "Mike Bauer Stomp Rocket" designs...flying models.
I am guessing closer to 1:18, 1:20 scale?
(the two shown above are my first smaller scale test builds)

Too many other projects on the go! lol
Just need to sort out some Instruction pages then we can add them to the Stomp Rocket collection.

Its an interesting aircraft isn't it?
A nicely detailed version (like you are designing) will be a cool addition!
...especially if it does mate up (scale wise) to the SR71

msspacemike...there is a website that features a ton of photos during the design and building of the drones.
I'm sorry, I found it while searching for reference material and I can't seem to find the link again.
I remember starting a few searches from the Wikipedia page links if that helps.
If you can find it, it might have some details you need.
