TomW.
I have so mcuh stuff laying around it is unbelivebalel. I subscribe to many different magazines on scale modeling. SAM had an article on this plane that got my juices flowing. Also the-blueprints.com has many drawings in vector imaging which is a good resource. But your best bet is to spend lots of money on magazines for modelers and just use their resource material. I forgot that I also have a thermoform plastic model that I got off of ebay that had a tremendous set of plans, the company is no longer in business.

What scale are you going to design the model, please?
And, will be possible to obtain this wonderful model?
Scale is 1;32, and I just finished a beta build of the cockpit section. I think I am going to provide a set of PDF files of this area with a stand so I can get some feedback on my model. Stay tuned....

If it's the Maintrack Project-X one, most of the Project-X vacs had great three-view drawings with the model...they are normally not too hard to find on ebay...I have a few (but not close to all of them) and would be happy to scan and share the planes with any designers who might be contemplating a build...

Yep, that's the one. By the way thanks for the info on the model build. I gave up a long time ago on being the first one to do anything.

Wow!! I like that display...I toyed with doing something similar withe the cockpit section of Ken's XB-70 upsized to 1/32 and the Hobby Model Tu-160 in 1/33...her indoors was not impressed to see '1.7 metres long when complete' on the cover ("Oh well," she sniffed. "I guess we're pretty safe as you hardly ever finish any thing...")

Yeah, I got caught up on section work in my wooden model days.
But I hear you on the finishing things part. I have a lot of different interest's, but I think I am going to finish this one.,

Hi Mike,

that looks great ! I like the idea of only the Cockpitarea being visible.
As you mentioned : your design seem to follow a different path then mine.
My goal was an as accurate as possible model.
I started my design two years ago - funny we got official at the same time.
If you need any further drawings - drop me a PN - i can help you for sure.

*greets*,
Wolfgang

Thanks Wolfgang, I appreciate the offer of help. I am going to also try and make this as accurate as possible, but I am behind the curve by about 2 years it seems. But that's ok. I work fast.
