Great bird and great build. I particularly appreciated the close ups of the stove action, and the home made vacuum box. Now what did you use for the actual canopy material? Is that a commercial thermosetting plastic sheet? It certainly sets the model off beautifully.

Thankyou! Rob the plastic was from the micromark catalog. For this one I used .010. Usually I use .015. Years ago I bought a wholesale sheet 4x8 foot of .020. This is a little thick. I have to heat it until it almost reaches the stove surface in order for it to vac thin. Then it has a funny bubble texture to it. For larger canopies it was ok, but for midsized I still use the 15. The 10 on this kit was a little thin but I couldn't find my stash of 15.

This is a beauty of a build, CMDRTED!

I love the way your repaint gived it that "Pre-shaded" look that the plastics builders use with airbrushes. Also, the interior was really well done, again, the "dark wash with dry brushed highlights" look gives it that "3d" effect for sure!

Great job!!

Wouldn't look out of place in the Nat'l Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola.

Glad to see this classic getting a bump. Especially with Pacific Wind's 1/100 version currently nearing completion.

Good to be reminded of your larger-scale craftsmanship and this historic aircraft.
