I'm just looking at all the railings and rigging I need to do on this one and I need some help. The antenna is suggested to be made by wire (I think) in the instructions, but in one of the photos that Ramm posted, it's obvious that there is more to the antenna than that;

I've googled with no luck. Does anyone have any better reference for this? I'm happy to do it out of wire, but if I can make it a little more interesting, I'd like to give it a shot. I'm supposing that this is a British design?

your right it looks like a triangular structure not just a straight bit of wire.

Well, no further info on the antenna, so I'm forging ahead. IMG_3403.JPG
Adding ladder rungs and rail.

This is what I came up with for the antenna.

The rail around the deck gun is the most difficult. I finally decided to build it in place and I've started placing the uprights.
None of it is particularly good, but I'm hoping the overall effect won't be too bad.
I've also started some of the wire lines, but no photos yet. Next time.

Plugging ever onward on this one. While I'm enjoying trying to salvage this, these railings and wires are slow going and I'm not the most patient modeler.

The deck gun railings came out OK and would have come out better if I had sat with them till they set well enough. But I ran off to do something else (as I usually do while glue is drying) and the horizontal wires slipped a little.
There's lots more wires to do before it's ready for paint, but I had to get some color on the work so far to see if I was really on track;

It's far from perfect, I know, but it does help take the eye away from the larger irregularities of my build. All in all, I think with some heavy weathering, this will be a pleasant, if irregular, model.
I can't wait to get on to another model, though. This is at the outer edge of my comfort zone as I really don't know anything about submarines or any other ships.

Thanks Rick. I appreciate the support!
Did a quick and sloppy weathering on it. Rough, but it'll do for now. I just want to be done!

An interesting and educational build for me. Surprisingly, it hasn't scared me off doing submarines. Well, maybe for the moment.
