Cool FGMM Boeing SB-17 FAB with improvements in 1/100

Hello friends.

Is my first entrie in this category. The subject is a Boeing SB-17 from FAB (Força Aérea Brasileira - Brazilian Air Force).

FAB operated a number of SB-17 and RB-17 in SAR and Aerophotogametric duties in 50 and 60's.

My target is a reproduction of FAB SB-17G S/N 5409, today is a preserved monument in BAFOR (Base Aérea de Fortaleza - Fortaleza Air Base) in northeast Brazil.

My intent is make some add-ons to this model, include the rescue boat, a search radar, and some antennas absent in this FG model SB-17 version.

This repaint is very easy, is a same colour scheme, for USCG and USAF SB-17, I'm replace in this model USCG insignias and replace for a FAB in Photoshop and Corel Draw.

Tomorrow the first shots of making of FAB SB-17...:D

Nice, especially like the SAR bird with all the yellow. I love to see aircraft in different paint schemes than what we are use to. The B-17 had so many other duties besides aerial bomber. Looking forward to this.

Very nice to see another version of the SB-17. I made up a revised set of files, for the Original one I did way back. I added missing radome, better looking BB doors, Cheyenne tail gunner setup, and fixed some of the markings, and redid the forward part of the yellow band behind the cockpit so that it all lines up now. missing antenna in front of the cockpit, added a better tail wheel, and such. Look forward to seeing the FAB version though, Way Cool! Ct. looking forward to seeing the Boat when you can get it done.

I am planning on sending in the new files to Chip and seeing how it goes, for those that own the kit already, they can feel free to PM me and I will send the pages with the updates, it will not be a complete kit mind you as it it was only a couple of pages that were redone.

Smile

Thank's people!!!!

Hawkman67 You work is very nice. My intent is same...

In my case , I first repaint the B-17, I only replace the insignias. FAB B-17 is not padronized colour schemes. With introduction of helicopters in FAB in 1955 the SAR duties is replace in favor of new machines, The B-17 is use for sea vigilance and recon, In this moment, I finished the repaint, and started the build.

Hawkman if you interesting in share the parts please send me a PM, Affter the finishing the plane I make and build the boat. FAB SB-17 is a many antennas after refits in late 50' s.

If no I continue the make radar dome and ADF antennas No problem
