Ah ... mmm .....perhaps my edited message should have read -
"Ooops - sorry - got confused - the information I posted (although not uninteresting) was was about the wrong South American war ..err ... wars." You know getting old happens/will happen to the best of us. It's also happening to me. |

The Chevrolet truck has been id'ed. The Ford COE's are late 40-42. Slight differences in grilles. 38-early 40 had a vertical oval grille.

If you feel adventurous you may mate the fuselage of a Boomerang and the tail and wings of a t-6 (clipped) and you have an NA-50 Torito (with a few corrections).
The question is where do I get the Boomerang? |

Would it not be much more simple, and closer in appearance, just to put the (clipped) wings of a P36 on back to front.

Dear Kacper:
Not to hijack your communications, but the conflict is very interesting. And following the advice of Maurice, I checked. I would definitely use the P-36, for the propeller! One thing that is clear to me is that the NA-50 is not the same as the P-64, tail is different, but most important the wing of the NA-50 is closer to the T-6 with its light sweep, in contrast to the P-64 whit a revised wing, straighter. This would be a nice Frankenprojekt. Wings and engine from the Texan fuselage from the Boomerang, and revise the cockpit and the ruder. Happy modeling. Pablo ps the question remains, where do we get the p-36? |

Pablo, you don't have to apologize for hijacking. This thread is for everyone's discussion and the main purpose of it is to find as many informations about the Ecuadorian-Peruvian War as possible. Anyway, you're planning to design NA-50, Pablo? I've never seen a paper model of this aircraft. Would be really interesting.

Murphs P-36 is a version with Twin Wasp engine(not used in S.America outside of Brazil),you need Cyclone version-Nobi has it in 1/100.Change wheels to folding version and you are good to go.I did that too for Finnish version. It's posted somewhere.
