Race units - whats included Deep space conflict only

This is a cleaned up post of what we agreed on in the general area.

For instance every race will have at its base:
Cruiser
Destroyer
Heavy Freighter
Freighter
Fast attack fighter
Heavy Fighter


For the gutzmerites the cruiser might be comparitively weak but the
fast attack fighter exceptionally well armed

For the Roninites their destroyers might be exceptionally agile while
the cruisers have weak armor/shields

All races would be reuired to have each of these ships (name would of
course be different at times but the ship would be comparable) my
examples above are simplistic of course and not truly representative
each race in addition might have one unique unit (maybe 2)

the gutzermites might have a heavily shielded carrier with poor
weapons of its own to accomodate more of their good fighters

The roninites might have an ultra cheap frigate as an extra ship of the line

possible add ons
battleships
carriers
frigates
scout fighters (lightly armed but FAST)
ECM ships (provide combat bonuses to friendly ships and/or combat minuses to enemy ships)
Capitol ship

suggestions? I am flexible at what will be offered as the core but I dont want to have 25 ships designed for every race we can do future add ons as well!

I offer my services to fast sketch the core units for a given race (including race face and body image) for any designer who wants to design ships and has no clue on what to do.

I already have one very good, but he may not be sufficient for all the ideas that pour out of my brain.

OK - this has been up a while now with no more suggestions (which might be a good thing) Is this a sufficent list of core units? I want to do some work on balancing these units so I want to finalize the list. Keep in mind each race will also have two unique units in addition to these basics.

We will probably have you work on the core alien race first ronin, have you had a chance to work up any sketches based on our discussions with bart? We alredy have a fair idea of what the ships will look like from the haggard from his other posts.

Today at night (for me, of course GMT 0) I'll have the sketches for all the alien core game ships uploaded and the sketches for the species. It will be the Hecate, unless Bart has something to say about it.

We need to decide what the special units will be for the Human and Hecate races in the core game so the designers can make them...

For Hecate I suggest the carrier and the ultra light fighter of some kind

For humans maybe a battleship humans always like bigger is better and maybe an escort frigate?

Thoughts?

Gotta start working on a points system and balancing too...

I was intending to start on a carrier but only found it way down the list. Maybe a cruiser for a start then... To me it seems like carriers would be a fun option which spawns all sorts of units, but I'll stick to the core ones first.
