Does this look alright?
Something has to be done for me to kick off the ball on the actual design work. So to prove I'm not all chat....
Human/human-related race, destroyer, size ~250m. Primary: 8 quad turret mounted, contact detonation plasma machine cannons. Secondary: 2 hull mounted anti-ship rail guns. Zeroth question... Is this is alright as a game unit design? First question... Is 15cm too big for a destroyer? I can shrink to 10cm if needed Second question... Minimum size of detail ~2mm, is this alright to an average builder? Third question... I'll do the race profile later. But I won't lay a finger on actual gameplay setup of my designs, is that alright? Fourth question... Who is going to texture the design? Me or a fixed person for all designs? I don't want to go beyond this point without a go stamp from Chris and the others :D |

I love the model, Lex.
And I can answer some of your questions, if Chris desagrees he can add his bit. Deep space combat. These ships cannot enter atmosphere and are easy target to the big ground batteries. 1/2000 scale. Paper models with maximum size of ships of 30 cm for largest battleships/carriers, 10 cm for smallest frigates. Squadrons of fighters cubes of about 5 cm. Zeroth question... Is this is alright as a game unit design? Yes it is. First question... Is 15cm too big for a destroyer? I can shrink to 10cm if needed. No needed. 15cm is okay. Second question... Minimum size of detail ~2mm, is this alright to an average builder? Maybe not. I think that 2 mm might be tough for a beginner, but Chris may answer this better than me. Third question... I'll do the race profile later. But I won't lay a finger on actual gameplay setup of my designs, is that alright? You can add you two cents or more. The game balance will depend of others. Fourth question... Who is going to texture the design? Me or a fixed person for all designs? You, as first choice, unless you don't want to. But you decide that. |

It had occurred to me that a slight addition of internal support structure would make the model much easier to build and stand, but I'm not sure if the general consensus is to have no structures in any of the models? Because Claudio surely didn't use them...

It's NOT alright...
I wonder what caused the part count to go up like mad... I can't go back and change now, but are part sizes like this suitable for a game unit construction? owobbb...

Pages ready. I remain hopeful that this will be suitable for someone with slight experience to build...
