Burt Rutan will go down in history as one of the GREAT aircraft designers of all time....all his planes would make fantastic models, I would love to build as many as i could...........Rich

I've always been fascinated by Burt Rutan's designs. They look like they came from the future.

Well, finally after what seems like forever, I finally finished the Quickie

I also finished the Learjet model 23

Both should be available on Ecardmodels soon. (today hopefully)

Also available will be the BD-5, which I'm still in the process of building to take pics of.

Wow, from a distance, and with a low res camera, my builds look good.

I wouldn't worry about that at all. There are many models that cover the same subject, and it's always and interpretation anyways. I know it wouldn't stop me or many other people who in fact just make what they wish too. Especailly if you make a whole line up of Rutan's planes. Someone might want the whole line up. That would make a really attractive offer, a whole line up or the individual planes.

The Quickie looks really nice, so does the Lear Jet, though I would have gone for concentric rings on the nose (like the wingtip tanks) on the Lear Jet,, they look better, (IMHO).

Next model I'm gonna start doing rings. Petals suck when you're using regular school glue.

Ok I will give you that Scaled Composites built x-38 test vehicles. but the x-38 is in no way at all a Rutan design. any more than if I built a Quickie it would be my design.

I was looking at the Learjet, and realized if I just add a fuselage ring after the wings, redo the windows, repaint, and voila...C-21. Lessee if it'll be that easy.

I kinda like the idea of a whole lineup of Rutan planes. And it seems like every time I look into a really oddlooking modern plane, I'll find a reference to Burt dipping his fingers into the design or build of it.

I think I have a picture or two of a C-21 at the local air show.
