Coolness. I just saw on the news that the Boeing 787 Dreamliner is gonna be here in Phoenix today. Time to go see if I can check it out.

I was discussing the Boeing 787 with my brother today, and I mentioned how it was made largely out of Carbon Fiber, and had sawteeth on the back of the engines. He joked that it must be hard to see on radar.
This triggered a thought in the modeller part of my mind, and the KC-87 Stealth Tanker was born. It's primarily mission is to refuel the future stealth fighters and bombers so they can loiter without having to leave the mission area. More images as I develop the model (Gotta make it look stealthier). |

That one did the trick. I think I'll keep the pdf's separate though. Makes it easier to make changes.
I'm having one of those bad funks right though. I've been hearing lately about people complaining about my models; how they're too generic, not detailed enough, or I'm doing everything wrong in designing them. I'm doing my best with what skills I have. If I design any more detail into them, I won't be able to build them. If I didn't need the money just to stay alive, I'd toss the whole thing in. I might still anyway. |

I happen to like your designs a lot, Aaron.
I thought of one aircraft that you might like to take a look at, and that I'm unaware of having been done in paper before. It is a warprize Spitfire, powered by a Daimler Benz engine. Please see attached pic, I have attached image and link to same if I did it correctly. In my humble opinion it is a rather elegant looking airframe, and certainly unusual. Kind and Respectful Regards Aaron my friend, Uyraell. http://www.luftarchiv.de/beute/england/spit2.jpg |

You know Aaron, some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope! Your designs fill a area of unusual, unique and rare birds. They are different and easy to assemble with satisfying results. Don"t be put down by those that cannot do what you do so well. Keep the supply coming and remember to Smile - it confuses the enemy.
Later.

I'd say your models are going great Murph. Just look how many are being built here, even without the contest.

Dude, you'll always get the haters. Trying to design the perfect model, it's not going to happen. Check the forum, there's always someone complaining about a model that's overly complicated or conversely too simple.
If someone wants more details, what's stopping them from scratch building more detail? But, seriously though, what is more detail? Formers, glue strips, insane levels of panel lines?? Nah, your models look great, they fill a niche. Keep them coming, and shrug off the haters. (Actually it's one of the reasons I don't post often on the forum. If you build a great model, it's nice to read people's comments, but there's always someone who has to detract and say something unkind when an opinion wasn't asked for... such is life). Niki BTW, built the Dornier Do-31, very cool design |

Aaron,
I wouldn't commission models if I wasn't generally happy with them. Ryan
