A drogue system would lead to increased stealth I would think. Having a boom sticking out would create a lot of edges and shapes to reflect radar. UNLESS, it was sowed in a fairing in the tail. Hmmmmm.

Hmm. I could save on having to draw stuff by having the boom retract completely into the tail.

It should be out soon. I just sent it up to Chris.

For those who follow Ryan Short's L-bird website, I'm working on a commission for him. Let's see how I'm doing. Anybody recognize it?

Looks great as well.

If anyone's wondering, no, I know that the Devastator is not an L-bird, but I thought it would be appropriate for a couple of reasons:

1. I'm interested a lot in the Doolittle Raid, and it's the 70th anniversary in April. Some of the Doolittle Raiders stayed with the crews of VT-8 in their quarters during the voyage.

2. This year is the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Midway, and I figured it high time that we have a TBD available.

This is a commemorative edition commission, and Aaron's work is looking great!

Ryan

What always amazes me about Rhino is how crude and simple the models look...

That's is because you have the Render options set up to produce the Render up that way. You have to go to "Render"/Options, and adjust accordingly. You can finish the model right out of Rhino3D without any external software. You would then be able to right click each Viewport Name, and select the mode you wish to work in. That picture is not representative of Rhino3D capabilities. Same program, different settings. The attached photo shows the dialog box which has the settings you need to change.

I only use Photoshop to add color, because I haven't figured out how to do it in Rhino yet.
