It is pretty cool sleeping in a different town/city each night. Invest in a camera or hell even a newer phone (with decent camera).

All the best dude, looking forward to hearing the stories and seeing the photos.

Congrats Aaron! Good luck out there on the road. Remember as I say about driving a transit bus: driving the bus is the easiest part of the job, dodging 4 wheelers and the riders (hopefully your cargo won't yell or throw things at you) are the really difficult part.

Well done Aaron! I do suspect that those 500 mile days will get tiresome before the year is out. My younger brother tried it for awhile but it got the better of him. So stay strong and determined my friend. And make sure to get enough sleep while you're on the road.

Congrats, As with calinous above, my father in law was a truck driver.
He retired after many thousands of miles with no accidents. He drove
for Salt Creek Freightlines, lived in Casper Wyoming, and drove most of
those between Denver Colorado and Billings Montana (maybe that's
why they were accident-free miles--- what traffic?). He started in the
'40's, so those weren't exactly as comfortable as today's trucks either.
My oldest son wanted to be like grandpa, so he drove for years too.

I'm gonna post everything on Facebook; pictures, stops, and where I'm heading.

One thing I'm learning is that my Grandpa drove a truck for 40 years, so it's in my blood.

My father in law had quite a few accidents - most weren't his fault, and for the others only his truck suffered. Driving uphill on ice is not for the weak of heart, and with the tanks half full not even chains on tires help.
As for other kind of accidents, the father of a schoolmate (who was driving a dump truck for a mining company) had a broken gearbox in the Christmas Eve - but fortunately the truck worked in reverse. So he drove backwards some ten miles, on snow and roads winding thru hills. In darkness (but I remember most of the dump trucks of that company having a large reflector for reversing, so it probably wasn't such darkness).

We're waiting for your war stories
