It's up now on my site, almost life size (1:8).

According to wikipedia, if they wanted to, a B-52 could carry 8 of the little buggers. Though it wouldn't be able to carry any bombs (no room).

Just saw on that Face place that Pima has just acquired the EA-6B "FrankenProwler". They also have an A-6E Intruder. I'm starting to think a double project is called for here. Gotta do more research though. Like what the differences between an Intruder and Prowler are, besides the longer fuselage and more crew.

Hey Murph! That's my favorite plane, I love it! Built the GPM version of the A-6, wish I could build the EA-6B.
Regarding differences: I actually don't think that beyond the tail-radome, and essentially the fuselage fore of the intakes (lengthened, double canopy, slightly different refueling probe) they are the same plane.

Gear looks the same, wings look the same, same tail structure, and I'm willing to bet much of the aft fuselage is the same. AFAIK most of the changes were internal.

Good luck!!

Thar's what I'm thinking. Looks like everything from the nosegear back is identical (on the outside) and just stretch the nose and a different canopy.

The problem with getting lost on YouTube is sometimes you watch too many videos, and get inspired...

On the intruder don't forget the electronic warfare package on the prowler's tail I'm all for this and love the idea of a prowler especially and habus are cool too

EDIT: I have a pic of the curvature of the outer wing on the sr71 near dc. If you want to see it I can show it

My local air museum has an SR-71, and a D-21, plus my father worked on SR-71's when he was in the Air Force. We've been collecting books on the Blackbird for the past 20 years. And everytime I go down to Pima, I molest theirs. Unlike other models I've done, I don't need to scramble for reference material. The reason the 3D model doesn't have the twist is because it's gotta be done manually by the builder.
