I think I'll get a few of these greyhounds. I've been looking for one still available that I can shrink to 1/200

Working on the refuelling truck kinda has me wanting to do some more ground service vehicles. Right now I'm thinking of some kind of aircraft tug. I have access to a few of them.
My local air museum has a small collection of tugs: Plus I discovered the other night that there's a small re-purposed aircraft tug kept on the lot at work to push dead buses around. This isn't it, but it looks kinda like that. I'll get pictures next time I'm at work. |

So, after some discussion with others and some thinking, I'm gonna start putting a "print at XX% for XX Scale" on all my models. The question I have is, what are the most common scales. I'm thinking 1/100, 1/87 (HO scale), 1/48 and 1/32. Are these the most common, or are there others?

Like the idea of some tugs, especially in 1/25th. Didn't realize that thing at the south garage was an old a/c tug thought it was a modified forklift. My main concern of it was trying to keep from getting run over by it when I was heading out the gate at night.
The Clectrac would be my pick, but the Buda-Hebad is sort of cool also. And for a non tug the Ford GTB Burma Jeep would be awesome. |

It's a good idea to consider designing civilian airport support vehicles since nobody has done it yet.

BTW, your C-2 Greyhound is gonna be 1/60. Just finished the fuselage.

This is the one at work. It gets a lot of use. These old buses sometimes refuse to start back up after I'm done fueling them. Lucky strike hitting 1/60 with the Greyhound. |

Rebuilding the wheel
Before you go too far, you guys might look at or contact AirDave and John Dell's
stuff because they both have offered aircraft tugs and airfield pieces of various ages and types in the past. I don't know if they are the scale or kind your looking for but you never know. FYI SFX |
