How about 1/24 or 1/25? I've got a few models that fall in that range, or would only take a small amount of shrinking to get there, as opposed to 1/32.

1/24 is not as popular. There are a few plastic kits out there in that scale,
but something that large is a minority.

I think airliners in 1/72 and 1/144 are common. For warbirds, I think 1/32 or 1/33....

Just to put my oar in the water, my preferred scale is 1/48 for most aircraft and vehicle models, although for my Vietnam50 project, I plan to go to 1/60 for larger aircraft (Caribou, C-123, e.g.) due to space considerations.

This is what I've come up with so far. This is a chart showing each model scale (4 pages worth) and the percentages to shrink or enlarge to 6 of the most common scales and HO scale, since a few of us are model railroaders.
Upcoming models-model-scales.jpg
Green squares are models that are already at one of the scales, so they don't need to be changed at all. Yellow squares are the shrink rate to get the model down to the nearest scale. As you can see, you're on your own if you want a 1/32 scale Lockheed Tristar.

For myself, the Stearman is my all time favorite. I have often wished for a detailed kit at the Halinski level. I would build such a plane to 1/16 as Leif has been known to do.

thanks for bringing this model.

I'm not doing a Stearman. I'm doing the N3N "Not a Stearman".
