Ran into a wall with the YF-23, so shelved it for a bit. Thought I'd try another X-Plane:

Not a good representation because I can't carve out the intake channels yet, but hopefully it gets the idea across.

It wasn't too high a wall. I worked all day on the model, saving regularly, then my computer crashed. Reopened the file, and it had an unrecoverable geometry object, with none of the parts working. Fortunately I had a secondary backup, but it was from the day before, so I lost a whole day's work.
