I just recently got commissioned to design this plane:
By the guy who actually flew it (Don Schmenk) He said I could sell it on my site, so I'm gonna do a few other versions as well... Pima's This one is in a park not too far from where I live Thunderbirds Skyblazers NACA! Drone (with orange! ) I'm also going to release a B&W, because there are about 15 million silver versions, and I can't make up my mind which one to do. |

Sweet! You can never have too many Huns.
Pima's example is a "C" model (narrow chord vert stab/rudder & no wing flaps). It also has the F-102 afterburner that was adopted later during the type's Air National Guard Service. Can't waiit to collect the whole set! :-) Last edited by Rangerdog; 03-25-2017 at 02:18 PM. Reason: Additional Info |

The NACA bird is an F-100A, and the one with which Scott Crossfield owned the hangar wall....

Les,
I thoroughly enjoyed the link! Not a jet jocky (props are my interest), I had never heard that story. I especially liked Yeager's humor! I might have to build the NACA version; it would make a great diorama. John |

While working on smaller weekly projects, I'm also working on larger long term projects. For instance:
Hopefully ready for release in a day or two will be the Lavochkin LA-9 It's done, I just need to finish building it Also in progress (started yesterday) is my favorite Avenger (I have a weakness for redheads). |

I have been trying to find out which F-100 squadron(s) of the 3rd Tactical Fighter Wing from Bien Hoa supported us on Easter Sunday (26 March) 1967 at LZ ALPHA, Tam Binh, Vietnam. It had to have been the 90th, 416th, 510th, or 531st or some combination. They were the only ones at Bien Hoa on that date. They were F-100Ds or Fs and camouflaged, not NMF.
If I ever find out, I will want to build a model in those markings. Still searching. Don |
