Now with the Rainbow added to the Seabees, someone could make a diorama . Yes, it looks like the Rainbow in the back of the Seabee lines.

Fascinating photo! Since John Glessner and I have been reworking the FG F-84F into an F-84G, I am particularly interested in the line of P-84s on the right hand side. It appears that the insignia are pre-National Defense Act of 1947 (no red stripe), the photo must have been taken around 1946 or early 1947.

So, would the P-84s be YP-84As (of which, 15 were built), or early production P/F-84Bs?

In any event, many thanks for sharing this wonderful image, John!

Don

I was shooting for this one:

Though scaling the Rainbow to 1:27 would have given it a 4 foot wingspan, and meant butchering the parts worse than I had to to get it this big.

Seems a 1:48 Seabee is very buildable after seeing some of those 1:100 jewels out there.

Just in case anybody is curious, 1:48, 32 inch wingspan, 21 pages.
And I thought mine was big at 1:72 scale, 21.5" wingspan. Forgot how many pages it was, prototype destroyed under a fireman's boot.

Well, the good news is, I have a lot more time to devote to designing. Bad news, I don't have a job anymore. If anybody wants to help out, I'd really appreciate it, and as usual, I'll give free models to anybody who helps (i do have 4 Norseman, and 5 F-15 Reporters waiting on beta builds)

It's not as bad as it sounds. The job sucked, and I believe it was slowly killing me. Out of the past 6 weeks, I've been sick with migraines or breathing problems at least 2 or 3 days each week.
