I think that the back part of the fuselage is a bit too long too...Murphyaa, Did you design this off of a 747-100 3 view or was it modified from another 747 variant?

The upper fuselage hump is too long. The SCA was a modified 747-100 (original short hump).

The -300 and -400 series both had the extended hump, however the -400 series also had slightly extended wingtips along with winglets.

Awesome model though.

The model started life off as a 747-800, though I shortened the fuselage and hump. I might have used the wrong hump for the SCA (-400 instead of -200).

All I did was remove the sawtooth on the end of the engine nacelles of the 800.
I just discovered the -800 actually has larger engine nacelles than the -400 (grumble).

-400

I built mine straight out of the box, and it seems to look ok in person, but I can't tell if it's still over large like in Papermates images.

Now that I sse your 747, the proportions look right for the 747-400. The engines and engine plylons might need to be changed though. How long is the -400?

After some discussion and study, I am going to have to redesign the engines and pylons. The model itself is 18.5 inches long from nose to APU exhaust.

Check Paper Trade and Schreiber Boeing 747s. They ARE really accurate.

That length seems about right then...

I’d love to build a KLM one in the future

We are talking about designs made by Aaron, not Paper Trade or Schreiber.

Some of us are aware of the PT and Schreiber kits, but those are only one(1) version of the 747, Aaron is planning multiple versions, including the SCA and some other cool versions of the Queen of the Skies
