It's not that I have too much on my plate. Every time I design a model, I usually do 2 or 3 versions, military and civilian, if they have one. Coloring only takes a couple hours. I've got 8 models waiting for beta build, with 14 versions.

I'm gonna take a risk and release some of them without a beta. The simpler ones that basically repeat what I've done before (A-10, 2 B-26's, and 2 C-46's)

I've still got the Walrus, Widgeon, Lancaster, Super Frelon, Staaken, and Skyray to beta.

Smile

I'm resume testing in the Windgeon.

I made and fix the wing center section, beside a place to cut in fuselage is dark gray I think is interesting add a text with cut here like a FG kits...

The parts fit very well. I painted small fences and white edges with acrilic, and in this inspection I discover a missing panel line in nine section of fuselage from front.

I made a left nacelle, the parts fit without problems...

After dry I cuting the darkgray area for glue in the wing, the fit is very weel.

I believe in the next days I finish the model, for me the most critical areas of building is done, and I think all the model is very buildable.

Dang. That thing is small. You're a lot braver than me. When I beta build, I make it as big as I can.

Mercator?

Looks like it might be a Mercator. If so, I have been researching that puppy for a long time and have a ton of references, including camera shots from the NATOPS manual which shows a lot of detail; essential though is Ginter's book on the P4M. Looks that you have gotten a long way through it however. The tail though is looking a lot like a Privateer's and the fuselage is too boxey(?). Few pitfalls, one being that the wing changed airfoils at the outer wing attachment and had to incorporate a 'jog' to mate the two different contours. The change in airfoils would not be that obvious but the change in leading edge line is noticeable. Whose plans are you using, Aaron? There is a pretty good one at:
http://smm.solidmodelmemories.net/Ga...e.php?pid=3429

The Solid Model Memories site is a gold mine of drawings, though look out for W. Nye's stuff - some of it is pretty inaccurate.

Another Mercator reference

Better plans than the XP4M link above is for an RC plan at:
RC Groups - View Single Post - Vintage & Old-Timer Plans

Nicely drawn showing a production model with the squared vertical tail. However, nothing yet I've found showing the 'kink' in the leading edge.

I can't really model the kink with my design methods, since the two parts have to connect and support each other.

I thought about that. I found a 3-view of the 2 seater.
I've also been giving thought about doing a sheet (or 2) of underwing stores: missiles, bombs, rockets, tanks and assorted pods. All in the same scale, and with a chart giving the percentage to change to a given scale (I'd start them off at the most common scale). I have a good start already with the various stores already scattered amongst to models.
