It was a little beyond my modelling skills to have it deployed.

Polishing off the RB-57 as we speak...er read. Just gotta draw up the cover page, and it'll be on it's way. Should have the WB-57 done by tomorrow.

First I'd like to thank Arron for designing this RB/WB-57F. I've dropped hints about it, along with several other members, for sometime and for sometime he'd sort of get it started and then put it on the back burner..

I supplied him with drawings, photos and pleading, and it's finished. I was somewhat surprised when he asked me if I would do the test build......l didn't give it a second thought...

To make a short story shorter.. I grew up in Albuquerque, my dad worked at Sandia Labs/Kirtland AFB as a designer of things that no one talked about back in the '50-'80's. I knew very little about what he did EXCEPT that he worked on airplanes...... As I got older (teens) he would allow me to go on base with him and I met my first WB-57F, of the 58th WRS. It's been a constant love of machine since then.......

Back to the models... I've finished the USAF version and am now working on the fuselage of the NASA variant. Please don't ask me to post picts of it, that's Arron's call.

Here are some picts of the finished model. Hope you enjoy them. I'm planning on doing an abbreviated build thread that will make some suggestions on how to best tackle this beast and some do's and don't when you decide to build your version.

This is a large model, 30+ inch wingspan. It will take some space to display.

Anybody want to venture a guess as to which was the first American JET bomber to drop a bomb in anger?

My guess is the Boeing B-47 Stratojet. I remember watching a special about the plane and it mentioned something about shots being fired in anger.
