Image from the National Museum of the USAF home page of the remains in storage: https://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/Vi...convair-xp-81/
This site has a lot of information and images of the hulks at Edwards (at which time they had wings, and I THINK I see the port wing drop tank/chemical tank/depth charge pylon on the first prototype): https://www.plane-encyclopedia.com/w...-vultee-xp-81/ Don |

My father just passed away tonight, and I don't know how I am. I'm just feeling empty at the moment. I've been living with him the past few years to help take care of him. Now I have to figure out how to make it on my own.

I am so sorry to hear about your father passing - may his memory be eternal! For many, it is a loss a son does not let go of easily, but life does move on. Take some time to let good memories outnumber the sad.

This might sound macabre, but I'm thinking of setting up a memorial page on my site. With the models I've designed relating to his life (SR-71, Hound Dog Missile, etc.)

That's not macabre at all. After all, he is one of the main reasons you are interested in aviation anyway from what I remember, when we met up a few years back. It will serve as a notice for the inspiration of your work.
