Great, so the Swife Boat won't be a loner on your webstore, Murph.

Murph,

You have my attention.

The "Mark V" is a one of the "New" Riverine navy boats perhaps you were thinking of the 80 Ft Nasty Boat

Never heard of the nasty boat. I'll have to see what i can find on it and add it to the list.

Aaron,

Would you consider a PT boat from early WWII?

Elco 77' PT boats -- particularly LT Bulkeley's PT-41-- were instrumental in evacuating MacArthur from the Philippines. AFAIK, no one has mass-produced a model of the 77-footers in any medium, any scale. Here's a link to a modeler who built himself one: https://matthewsmodelmarine.wordpres...e-expendables/

Just a thought....

I didn't know PT boats came in different sizes. If I can find plans of a 77-footer, I might give it a try.

Pablo Cicero (wire and paper) has been cranking out small-scale PT boats and other coastal forces boats like billyo, including the gunboat version of the early Elco 77-footers: http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/693135-post40.html

Based on a hasty read-through of his thread, I do not THINK Pablo has produced a model of the 77-foot Elco early-war PTs (PT-20-68: famous in part because General MacArthur and some of his staff were evacuated from the Philippines in Elco 77-footers).

This is the thread: Narrow seas, archipelagos, and coastal operations

Dear All: Indeed PT boats came in different sizes. The most famos were the Elco which came in 70', 77', and 80' the later the most famous due to PT 109 belonging to this class. Higgins, the producer of the landing boats also produced torpedo boats in 78' sizes (and a few odd prototypes). The US even produced Vosper MTB for Lend Lease purposes.
The best place to find references for these boats are in Navsource.org

Motor Torpedo Boat Photo Archive

Other valuable reference:

PT Boat World - History and Modeling

As Don mentioned, I did a number of generic boats in 1/200 (but build in 1/400) including some of the earlier 77' but with out the bomber type gun turret present in the early Elco boats (70' and early 77'). The first 77' I designed was a gunboat conversion:

Narrow seas, archipelagos, and coastal operations

You may find interesting references in the thread that many contributed.
I hope this helps.

Welp, the pandemic strikes again. Due to lack of business, my day job has severely cut back my hours. I'm down to about 30 hrs a week, and holiday weekends now last all week. While having more time for modelling is a good thing, the bite out of my regular paycheck isn't. I'm gonna have to start trying to figure out how to beg for money again. I'm going to start a donation drive: if I can raise $400 by the end of the month (10 days), I'll offer up one of my new models as a freebie. Either the River Patrol Boat, a complete rework of the DH.100 Vampire, or another model as yet undetermined. As always, any help will be appreciated.
