Is there any kind of desire for fire trucks and other related vehicles? I have access to what claims to be the largest collection of fire fighting equipment in the world (except for the three trucks I want to see).

There aren't many US fire fighting vehicles that have a lot of detail in model form, most are curbside models, so if you add the detail and fiddly bits, people might be interested

I thought I had put the days of emergency fundraising behind me, but it seems like I was wrong. Model sales this month were abysmal, so they weren't able to fill the gap between my regular paycheck and my bills.
I need to raise money fast, so, for the next 3 days, any body that buys a model, will get a model of similar or lesser value for free. Also, any donations will receive a free model of their choice. If I can raise $200, I will release either the CRJ-900, or the Tu-154 as free models. |

Stories I've always heard about my grandfather was that during WWII, he served in the US Army Air Force as an Aircraft Recovery Specialist at Luke Field here in Phoenix. Basically, when a plane didn't come back from a training flight, he went out and got it, when he wasn't being disciplined for fighting.
I want to design a model of the truck he drove, but the only info I can find is that the standard heavy recovery truck of that time was the Federal C-2 Wrecker. I've done some searches on the internet, but the only plans I can find are some rough drawings. Does anybody else have better info? |

You have probably tried the US Army Transportation Museum at Ft Eustis, VA. But, just in case, I thought I would bring up the subject.

Our U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center Archive probably has the tech manual.

So I was watching a youtube video on the history of Land Trains (like the Arctic Cruiser), and they were talking about the RG Letourneau company and some of the weird vehicles they built. One that caught my eye was this "little" gem:
It was called the "Landing Craft Retriever", which it kinda did. So far research says only one was built and never used in combat. Anybody interested? It would make for an interesting diorama with a landing craft model. |

I would be game to build it

Retriever not so much but landing craft would be a good idea imho. Are there any decent models of Higgins boats or any other US made landing crafts? I've seen few in plastic but in paper only very ancient Maly kit from 1957 (the very first kit they made btw).
