So a little digging... and help from friends is hopefully inbound.

And that led to digging up more:

This has faded color photos that look really good:

This has two of the same photos and one extra, but small:

I have a couple of Korean guys at work and asked them about C-46s and got nothing. They were grunts nowhere near airplanes but remarked that "whatever Americans did to their stuff, that's how they used it".They simply didn't have money to do anything fancy like paint and wore stuff down until it fell apart. They don't think planes were any different and what's in museum that's for show and has no relation to actual equipment used.

Good images, Ryan. Those operational aircraft of the 60s-70s period all have colors and markings consistent with the example that Murph is working on.

I picked this one because of the smaller ROK Air Force markings. The fewer parts I have to line them up on, the easier it is to avoid alignment issues.

Vans RV-6 Photos

Looks like I will be re-visiting Murph's site for a C-46 next.

Adding some photos of my RV-6 build per the original post request.

Regrettably, I never took a photo of the airplane on the ground, and the images of the aircraft in the air are too far away to make out the markings.

1. Jump orders for the two members of the United Nations Command Unconventional Warfare Detachment (Airborne)(Provisional).

2 and 3. Departing the aircraft.

4. Me colliding with a ROKA parachutist, which caused my chute to collapse and gave me a couple of tense moments as my chute slid off the other follow's canopy and slowly re-inflated. In 1972 there weren't many safety measures at Han River Drop Zone Number 1, as evidenced by the farmer passing by on his bicycle in the middle of the DZ.

5. Don III, age 7 at the time, watching the jump. I had just separated from the trooper I had bumped into.

6. Don III ran out to meet me and carried my helmet as we walked off the DZ.

7. Me, 46 years ago.

8. Don III wearing a green beret loaned to him by one of the SF Detachment soldiers, miniature Navy aviator wings given to him by one of our friends when he had his tonsils out, and miniature jump wings (earlier that year, he and his sister had jumped the 34-foot tower at the SF Detachment facility, so he felt pretty Airborne!).

None of this helps with the colors and markings of your ROKAF C-46, Murph, but I enjoyed the trip down memory lane. If you make one that looks like Tail Number 541, it will be close enough for me.

Fantastic photos Don!

Boy do they ever bring back memories-you didn't even mention about how to daisy-chain the shroud lines before stowing in the kit bag....For the trip to the assembly area. What? No 85lb - 125lb rucksack to support the daisy-chained main while walking back?

These were Hollywood jumps, Mike. No rucksacks. Can't be compared to your experiences.

Brewster Buffalo in RAF service.

I have to look into getting Inkjet printer. While free laser printer is cool it has its drawbacks as pictures show.
I did few adjustments here and there,1/2 of underside is black now as all pictures of Malaya Buffalo's I found show it.

I should look into making Blenheim Mk1 used in Malaya as well.Could keep buffalo company
