I used to have a laser printer, and I found that the "Heavy Paper" setting worked best to prevent flaking.

Printer I have access to has about 20 paper setting plus additional 5 for heavy paper/cardstock.So far I found 2 settings working with thinner cardstock for 1:72s but heavier 110lb cardstock seems to work with only one of them and not every time.

For 2020, I'm going to drop the rigid list of "models that need to be finished", mainly because I didn't finish any of them. Instead, I'm going to go back to doing models that trigger the "cool" response. I had a lot of those this year, but shelved them to focus on "the list" and forgot about them. Hence I barely had any new models this year. One thing I want to do is develop some sci-fi ships from Star Wars and the such. I've been reading the Legends Hand of Thrawn series this month, and I kinda want models of the Wild Karrde and the Lady Luck. Maybe Jade's Fire as well.

But can you clear your commissioned models first?

That's a given. I'm always working on the commissions. But when I hit the wall on them, I'm gonna switch to something I wanna do.

USMC F2A Buffalo.Don Bose might know what period this livery is from,I found only one picture showing Buffalo in Hawaii but markings on pic are very obscured.
Again a well fitting model.I tried few new things here, most of the model is done with clear elmers glue ,not my usual mix of white/carpenters glue.Good glue for some things, not so good for others. Note to builders: cowling needs a strip of spacing material glued a bit inside cowl edge to simulate space between cowling and fuselage.Gap should be even all around the cowling and it's clearly shown on all close up pictures of F2A I have seen on net. I did some pictures on very gray day in roof of my car.Interesting effect I think. |
