Guess what it is

Ok, so I got a wild hair in an innappropriate place, and thought I'd try to get back into designing again. I also thought I'd try to increase my level of detail above that of a standard Fiddlersgreen kit, and see if maybe I can sell some models somewhere else.

But, to make things a little more fun, I'm not gonna tell what it is I'm designing. I wanna see if I can do a good enough job that people can tell what it is just by looking at the model.

Anyways, on to the model:

The framework

Some accessories added on

It's still in progress, I still have to add the engine and a few other things.

I'm working with a fuzzy 3-view, and several fuzzy images. And the local air museum has theirs hanging from the ceiling, so I can't get my own.

Hence, I'm having to take artistic license to make it more easily buildable.

i'm hoping enough interest will be generated to keep me on this and get it finished. Not to mention I lost my job at the beginning of the month and have lots more time to design.

I'll stay out of it, but the engines show up on ebay every once in a while for detail photos.

Somewhere between 5-10K. I've noticed them, but we only do recips, so I haven't really paid that much attention.

Detail pix

Murphy, I shot a *whole bunch* of detail pix of the Gyrodyne example at the NAt'l Helicopter Museum last summer. Would those be of some help to you?

Funky little beastie... I hope to scratch one to go with my 1:48 Kaman 'Husky'.
