Goppington Go-9 and Heinkel He-176

Before I get caught up in a design and build, I thought I'd ask first.

Anybody ever heard of the Goppington Go-9, or Heinkel He-176, or seen models of them?

Heinkel 176

Goppington Go-9

I did a quick search on the net, and didn't find any models.

The reason I'm asking is because they were interesting testbeds for technology used in later major german aircraft.

The Go-9 was used to test rear drive propellors for the Dornier Do-335, and the Heinkel He-176 was used to test developments in the engine for the Messerschmitt Me-163

Yup, I've heard of them.

Nope, never seen a model of them.

YEEHA! I would love to see a paper model of them.

I too have heard of both and have yet to see a model of either.

I just recently obtained enough information on the Goppington Go-9 to give thought to designing a model using the techniques Roman puts forth in his Card Model Design book.

Looked like it might be simple enough...if I can figure out the ways and means of 3D modeling...hehe.

But yes, I would love to see models of either or both.

In plastic, yes

Huma, I believe, produced both in injected @ 1:72, plus perhaps a resin kit or two (if I recall). There was a limited run kit of the 176 to supposedly 1:48 scale, though AIR, there is some confusion about what exactly the He-176 looked like.

As far as paper kits, I have not seen any - but then I'm a noob-ie.

According to Luft '46, the pic I put in the opening post is the only known official photo of the He-176

I'll let you design the Go-9 Ash. I can't afford Roman's book, one of the perks of being unemployed.

That's part of why I'm looking at these 2. Staring at the Jolly Green 6 hours a day trying to figure out what to do with the formers is driving me nuts.

Murphy, suffering a bit of 'burn-out'?

Burn out, among other things. I've been seriously giving thought to designing a FG style Jolly Green without formers, just so I can get it done. Then maybe get back to the monster one when/if I get back on my feet.

I had looked at the He176 as a project once before. There area lot of heavily retouched photos, and a few good unofficial ones. Ditto on the quality of drawings. if yo go ahead with it, let me know and I'll forward you what i've collected

Go ahead and send me what you've got. All I have is what's from the Luft '46 site.
