2009 International Paper Model Convention

Hey all,

I just got this message from Peter, and for those who might want to attend next year, I wanted to get your preference.

Quote:
Hi All.
Well, at the risk of hitting you so soon after the most recent convention and before you have had the chance to recover and vote, I'm writing regarding the 2009 convention. The hotel has offered up three dates and here they are:
25-27 September
2-4 October and
23-25 October

I realize that the suggestion was made that I simply select a date and run with it, but on this date of democracy voting, I have to stick with what makes me feel good and that is give everybody a chance to voice their priorities. There is no time to sort out a steering committee - I'll tabulate everybody who replies and let you know the result.

So please let me know your first, second and third choices.

I would like to get back with the hotel and lock down the dates by Monday 10 Nov - so let me know by Sunday. Thank you.
Pete Heesch
So just add your preference to this thread or send me a private message, and I will forward the results on to Peter

Rick

What's the weather like in DC at those times? I remember Charlottesville could be cold in late Oct...

Then I guess it doesn't matter at all. I do hope to be able to attend next year!

My preference would be one of the October dates, but any of them could work.

Weekend of Oct 23 works best for me - September and earlier in October is likely to be high season for work-related conferences. Rob Tauxe

Any of those dates work for me, although, since we often go to Cape May in late September/early October my preferences would be:
23-25 October
2-4 October
25-27 September

If the earlier dates are chosen, Lil and I will modify our Cape May plans.

Anything works, though earlier is if'ier. I'd prefer late Oct, followed by early Oct, followed by late Sept. This year -- on Nov 1 -- the temperature was in the upper 60's, though it felt like the low 70's. Maybe there's an upside to global warming after all.
