Your right again Texman.
And seriously, does anyone know if this beast ever had any kind of official or unofficial name? |

I call it the B-24-WRP-Hybrid
and it has got to be the most awkward looking plane! Its no wonder it didn't work. A very unique paper project!

I think I'd call it the "Holy crap, we're out of planes! Quick, stick those two together!"
Talk about last resort battle modifications. |

Thanks Don, Willygoat & Darwin!
Yesterday was the last day of the event and we had a lot of fun. Two more raffle winners came forward to collect their prizes. The first one was Michael Mason from Waunakee, WI. He took home Marek’s Messerschmitt Me-109 Z from ECardModels. Next came Rod Dumouchel, from Edmonton, CAN. Rod left our table with Ken West’s X-15A-2, also from ECM. Both pictured below respectively. We had three more raffle prizes left; all P-39 Airacobras from Fiddlers Green. Well, really only two left. Someone walked away with one of them from the table on the first day while I had my back turned. As for the other two, the raffle organizers had not gotten around to drawing winners by the time we were leaving yesterday. I didn’t know this but they intentionally left these kits for the last day’s drawings, at the end of the day. By then I was pretty tired so I just pulled some clear canopies for them (an activity I was leaving for each winner to do, while helping if/when needed) and left them with the kits. The turtle raffle entries grew from three ladies to twelve by yesterday afternoon. At the actual time of the drawing though, we only had three of them present and Tricia won out. We def turned some heads and opened some eyes over the last four days. I know we’ll see more new members here, along with MDK, because of our presence at this year’s IPMS event. A huge THANK YOU goes to SFX for showing up with his awesome prop builds; they def turned heads and got people thinking & talking about paper! Thanks also go out to Ellen, SFX’s wife, for her exceptional ground support capabilities and cookie baking prowess. Also, a big thank you shout-out to our sponsors who truly helped make our showing at this event a real eye-opening neck snapper. Really, thank you! -J |
