IPMS PENNCON in Carlisle, PA, USA, 21 September

penncon

Mike Scalingi and I plan to attend. Looks like a natural for McHale since the theme is modeling movies and television.

This was always a good show when I could attend. The venue is first rate. Judging follows AMPS style (Gold,Silver,Bronze) where model is judged against specific criteria and not against others in the same category (or at least it was when I was there). Paper modelers are openly welcomed to this event.

Highly recommended!

Curious if any of my PA buddies made it to this show. How was it?

Kevin Stephens and I had breakfast at Fay's and then visited the show. Some good models, but no paper. Neither of us entered any models this year (last year, Mike Scalingi's paper PBJ-1H and Clark tractor both won awards). Kevin brought along the Canon Komatsu power shovel that he will be bringing to the IPMC next month in keeping with the unarmed tracked vehicle theme. I wish he had entered it - I am sure it would have been competitive). We also saw Karl (Bloody Knife) Warner, the Official USAHEC Paper Modeler Wrangler, who was busy with a gathering of Vietnam veterans, but who says he will soon be cutting, scoring, folding, and pasting again.
