I won't get to political but I have a great interest in WWII and have seen from the photographs/research and have talked to a P-38 fighter pilot and have learned how terrible it was. I am by no means an expert but the horror's of the war was unthinkable with conventional wepons, with nuclear it was also horrible but because of the shear suddenness of the bomb Japan surrendered and less people where killed.

Fast forwarding it in the Cold War it was avoided partly because of our superior nuclear power.

I hate war but we still have to defend ourselves and try at all costs (which I believe the USA did in WWII) to avoid war. We try to make the best decisions to the best of our ability at the time and that's all we can do.

Do I like the nuclear bomb, if it saves lives by shortening a war then the logical answer would be yes. If it causes havoc and destruction without cause, hell no! But in the case of Japan it saved lives so I cannot hate the bomb in that instance.

I'll shut up now and see what I can learn.

Kindest regards,
John.
