Japanese Paper Models in Corpus Christi, TX

I was going through some photos from last fall and came across our trip to Corpus Christi. We visited a number of museums, including the Lexington of course, and came across an Asian culture museum of all things. We checked it out and strangely enough they had paper models, really nice ones. So I figured I'd share. Forgive my unfocused photos, some of them were on shelves higher than I am tall so I kind of had to guess where to shoot. I'm still amazed by the pagoda that was door height.

I couldn't resist a few ship photos I'm still struck by the sailors bringing up the boarding ladder while underway through the shipping canal.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Lex a couple years back. Your photos are excellent, really love the paper models. Very interesting! Love the ship photos too, is that a barge/tug arrangement I see? Looks like a great idea for a paper model. Very neat!

No they didn't, they were stashed up in the upstairs interactive room along with a lot of other stuff. I didn't ask though, as the staff that day was an older lady who wouldn't stop talking and I didn't want to start her up again and miss the Lexington. Her helpers were two kids who looked and acted like they were doing some "community service".

Avery, the ship with the tugs looked like it was an oil tanker going through the shipping channel. I spent a lot of time on the hotel balcony taking pictures of ships in the channel
