2013 California Antique Farm Equipment Show

Finally getting this one done, the week after I get back from this year's show. Lost my notes from Friday so slowed me down trying to id some of the vehicles. As always anyone sees one wrong let me know so I can check it. Last year was a really big show with special events honoring the American Truck Historical Society and earthmovers, so bunches of good stuff (at least to me). Also got a chance to get over to the museum and reshoot a few things using a tripod. Better but still managed to screw up a few. Also a few shots of Josuha trees in bloom. Was unusual event in that all in the entire Mohave desert came into bloom at the same time.

A few samples: Holt military crawler, Studebaker Weasel, Rumely 1895 steamer, Peterbilt 1957 280, GMC 1952 900 w a load of John Deere's. 2013-04-19_20 California Antique Farm Equipment Show Tulare - whulsey Enjoy!

The oldest Pete I have lettered is a 1946, it had rectangular emblems. The company that owned it was using for a parade and fair vehicle. It is one of their original trucks.

Great pics. I could stand around for hours looking at those old steam tractors. Something about them gets my engineering blood flowing fast.

Thanks Wayne! That's a lot of good-looking old iron.

Let me know if you ever come east to visit the Rough and Tumble Engineers in Kinzer, Pennsylvania (Home Page don't miss the video of the Cooper steam engine in action).

Rick Steffers and CMDRTED live within striking distance, and Kevin Stephens is about the same distance away as I am, so we could have a good get together and talk paper models and fomby mobile machinery.

Hey Don, would love to make one of the steam shows back in your area someday...don't know if it will ever happen.

Anyway finally found my notes right were I'd put them for 'safe-keeping' so updated and corrected some information. Plus added a couple I'd missed.

A few more sample shots and link again:

No the Versatile is from this decade, I think the truck carrying it was there for the ATHS part of the show. Its just it really impressed me, that is one dammed big tractor, especially for a non-tracked one.
