What is the pressure tank under the seat? Does the roadster have gas headlamps? It would be nice to think that it is hidden away in a Tulare County barn waiting to be re discovered, but it probably got melted down for a WW2 scrap drive.

If you mean the one that runs along the frame that is the Presto-lite carbide tank for the lights. Looked at the headlights a little closer, you can see the lines for the gas to them. Also would say those are E&J brass lights used on the 1909 to 1914. Definitely an early hot rod that was probably the terror of the neighborhood.

Thanks for the additional info, Wayne! I said to John in a PM that the creature looks as if were built in somebody's garage, and your description would seem to be consistent with that theory.
