'Memphis Belle' in KC
Okay, it's the B-17 from the movie, not the real one, but for the bargain price of $450 you can go on a 30 minute flight.
You can read more about it here: ?Memphis Belle? lands in KC, will offer flights June 28 and 29 | The Kansas City Star

A co-worker did this on "Aluminum Overcast" this past Sunday in Denver.
Pretty stoked when he got to ride in the bombardier spot for part of the flight!

I flew in the Bombardier's position in "Sentimental Journey" during take off, it was well worth the cost. I have a video of the take off that I watch a lot.

But it still is beyond what many can afford unfortunately. I think this is what they need to do to keep these planes going. Put in a few more seats ...drop the prices a bit ...and print up a ton of waivers. lol Make it more affordable for people and you'll earn more revenue to help keep these planes flying for years to come. When you see the constant (justifiable) begging for funds to help pay for repairs and upkeep it makes me wonder why they haven't done more things like this. It can't be just a liability issue? I remember a few years back, the Canadian Lancaster, at my local airshow event. I, and hundreds more, stood in line for more than half an hour, to climb a boarding ladder and step into the fuselage of the Lanc. You weren't allowed to venture any further unless you paid to crawl up to the cockpit area. I forget the price, but like many others, I was a bit disappointed and unimpressed with having waited so long just to be told this was all I get to see without paying. I remember thinking, if they had asked for a $1 or $2 donation from everyone in the line (who wanted to see the plane), and then gave all a quick look inside...including a crawl up to the cockpit if you wanted (not everyone would do it, because its not that easy...access to the rear turret is a little easier) By charging less to more people ...they would have made 100 times what they actually made in cockpit viewing charges. ... I got a few pics of this B-17 when it came to my local airshow (Kitchener Ontario) You can view them in my album here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/airdav...7634071537214/ I remember the paint was really rough at that time. (This would be about 5 -10 years ago.)
