2015 International Paper Modelers' Convention

All,

Time to start the thread for the *next* IPMC! As I mentioned to some of the 2014 attendees, I have a potential conflict next year, because I have another convention in Ottawa on 16-18 October. Having the IPMC on the normal next-to-last weekend would mean that I'd have two conventions back-to-back, which I'd sort of like to avoid.

If we slipped the dates by one week, we'd be looking at Halloween weekend (30 Oct-1 Nov). Personally, I think it would be neat to have a Halloween convention -- we obviously would need a special award category! However, in the past, we've found that some folks don't like to be away from home over Halloween, for a variety of reasons. If you think that you might be interested in attending next year, but don't like the idea of the Halloween date, could you send me a private message and let me know? We'll be talking to the hotel in the next week or so about dates, and your input would be extremely valuable.

SF&G,

Peter A.

Matthew,

I don't think you will be, we have had kids from some of the members, and they were around 10-13

I should have been more clear. I had meant registered with the website present at the event. I know there are younger members than me (17) on here. But at the event I'm sure I will be the youngest there that is registered on here.

Yes, you will be, but you aren't the youngest who has ever attended

Clarification on the announcement by Don regarding next year's Theme:

"The special theme for next year’s IPMC is animals."

Does this mean strictly models of actual animals (i.e. lions and tigers and bears, Oh my), or does it include other items with animal names (dragon Wagon, Buffalo MRAP, Fennek recon vehicle, Beaver aircraft) or animal patterns (airliner paint schemes with animals - frontier airlines for eg.)?

Would like to know this so I can plan accordingly ...

Greg, you are now the 5th person who has seen through our veiled attempt at humor and fun.

Yes, vehicles and other items named after animals are allowed
Tiger Tank, Panther Jet, Cougar Mrap, etc etc etc

As this is odd, does this mean they are looking for younger vehicles?
