Today in Aviation History

111 years ago today (17 December 2014), the Wright brothers made their first flight.

It is also the anniversary of the first flight of the Douglas DST and of the XB-47.

This Day in Aviation - Important Dates in Aviation History

That's right, good to remember that. What those brothers did has given me a fascinating working life in aviation. I'm still thankfull for that.

Thanks for the reminder Don!

I recently read an article in Flight Journal titled, "What if the Wrights were Wrong?" It's a unique look back at how history would be different without that first flight in 1903. WWI and WWII would certainly have been very different in flight technologies had serious pursuit of powered flight happened 10 years later or so.
