Hi Dave - Many thanks for your support of this event by designing the fantastic Humvee. It not only looked great, but was a center of attention and gave us a model that was perfect for both beginners and experienced modelers. Meow!
Bob - Hope to see you at the IPMC in November. Needless to say, it would be terrific to have you present at the Army Heritage Days event next year. Mike - Thanks for the kind words. Doug - We did indeed get many questions. Most of the folks who asked questions about techniques and availability of models were those who already did crafts (plastic models and woodworking [mostly men], scrapbooking, knitting [mostly women], dollhouse making and furnishing [about equally divided]. There were lots of young people with whom we shared the most important secret of paper model building: score before bending. Here are some more images of the visitors. Incidentally, the photograph on the wall behind Rick in Image 6 is of Specialist Angela Reese, Tennessee Army National Guard, on the day she returned from Operation DESERT STORM in 1991. During the 2012 event, she happened to be one of the visitors to our display so we were able to capture her alongside her image. I thought it would be appropriate to add that 2012 image as well. Wish you could have been there, Isaac. It was great luck that you and your wife were able to attend last year's International Paper Modelers' Convention in Sterling and to display some of your superb models there. Hope our paths will cross again some day (especially is you have models with you at the time). Don

We are relocated again. This time to Canada for a year or so. However, one never knows and we may meet again. Regards Isaac

It was great seeing everyone on Sunday. Though I’m sorry I didn’t get to see John, Rose and Kevin. It is always nice to get together and talk shop.

Oh, indeed it was great fun. We were all very busy on Saturday answering questions and having conversations. The rain on Sunday decreased the visitorship, but enabled most of us to actually make some solid progress on our various projects. One fond memory for me was watching Dr. Laser don rainwear (with some difficulty) during the peak of the Saturday afternoon thunderstorm while joking about a physicist trying to put on a rain poncho. My Catbus got one of two responses -- either "Wha-a-a?" or delighted cries of "Nekobus!" And I had one woman who was enthralled by my Homespun Magixx Easter egg because she collects Ukrainian Easter eggs (I gave her the website address). It was interesting to overhear a surprising number of young visitors confidently naming off Greg's tanks -- there are some very knowledgeable young WW II fans out there. Good news for the future of the hobby!
