This one's new. I never heard of the Douglas A-24 Banshee. At least they're gonna put wings on it. Las pic is of our lonely WB-57 sitting forlornly behind that sadd looking Tri-Jetliner.

I always want to go back. They're building a new hanger to put lots more planes in, and I noticed enough spare fuselages back in their boneyard to build a complete PBY Catalina. I just need to have another perfect trifecta (Weekend off, access to a car, and enough money). Plus I think I'll wait until somebody turns the oven outside off. 100,000 degrees is a bit toasty for me.

Heck, I'll kick in a few bucks for the next trip. Let us know a couple of weeks ahead and I'll see what I can do.

MUCH cheaper to fund your research trips than to try and do mine!

Quick game of "Name that plane". Anybody know what the green fuselage to the left belongs to? I believe the Noseart says "Lady Lode Star"
Pima Air and Space Museum Trip-0620151356b.jpg

Google says it's a Lockheed C-60A Lodestar

Google says it's a Lockheed C-60A Lodestar
Or if that is referring to Texas it most likely says "Lady Lone Star".

It definitely said "Lady Lode Star". Seems like it was a somewhat famous plane that disappeared after a crash a few years ago.

That's sad to see the WB-57 sitting in the same spot and situation from when I was down there last.
Just was checking and that was 2 and half years ago...and I still haven't got around to loading up those photos. Guess I'd best get busy. And that's why I'm not getting any models finished. Too many shows and museums and taking a lot of photos (can't ever take too many).
