aww thats a terrible shame!
at least the pilot survived and there was no other damage (other than the aircraft).
looks like a complete write-off to me.
probably need another complete rebuild.

be interesting to see video of the crash.
I wonder if anyone filmed it?

I hope it's not a complete write off. I would like to hear that they are willing to rebuild the aircraft.

Per their website, she was there for an event, so it may be possible someone recorded the belly landing.

I see a lot of visible damage.
And I'll bet the engine is a write off.
Who knows what structural damage there is.
It will require a complete tear down to find out.

They rebuilt it twice so far...a third time is quite possible.
It all comes down to funds, doesn't it?

Another news report says the Pilot reported landing gear trouble before attempting to land.
The plane then skidded off the runway onto the grass.

It was due to exhibition in the CAF Red Tail Squadron at CAF Headquarters at Dallas Executive Airport.

It doesn't say who the pilot was - maybe Mr. Shepard -, but whoever was on the controls, he saved himself and the plane.

I didn't film it but we saw it happen. It's NOT a write off.

Exactly.
okay, so I didn't mean "write-off" as in "it will never fly again".
I meant "substantial damage" and in need of a rebuild.
Hey, its an aircraft.
We know what scrutiny is involved before something is "flightworthy".

Hey, its only a plane.
As long as the people involved are okay.

And this time, Mr. Shepard gladly survived.

He was the one who asked me to climb to the Mustang's wing for the photo above.
