Hi Texman,

Also Tennessee. I'm only 3 hours from Little Rock. Daughters go to U of AR in Fayetteville. Sounds interesting.

Peter - thank you for the 19th IPMC target dates. This is helpful.

I second a return to Dayton, where the first IPMC was held.
There is an airport, affordable hotels, and the Air Force Museum and Wright Brothers Museums are in town, and the Henry Ford Museum is not all that far away.

I've hesitated at responding to this thread because of my ill conceived notion to start a mid-west version of the IPMC for the spring time. My untested organizing capabilities were keeping me local to my geographic area since I have only been in Iowa for just short of four years now. Regardless of this past experience, I would welcome an IPMC closer to me.

The Quad cities, Iowa City, Des Moines, Chicago and St Louis are all within my immediate range. I could easily entertain participating in something in Dayton as it is the half way point of the 14 hr. drive when traveling back to PA to visit the folks.

Indianapolis and Peoria also come to mind. Anywhere else would require some drive time estimate to decide if feasible though.

OK done with my two cents here.

I'd love to organize something north of the Border
but as has already been shown, trying to organize Canadians
is like trying to herd blind cows on an Ice Rink.
Most of them think that a Hockey game is starting and just want to sit down and ask for a beer.

Obviously you can't accomodate everyone, but that is one reason why many events move around to different locations.
To give more people a chance to take part.
Regional events are the only real alternative, and are perfectly acceptable to me
as long as they occur at different times for those who want to attend more than one.

Crossing the border is a big headache for me...even more trouble than the long distance travel.
I prefer to drive so I can see the sights and bring whatever my car can carry.
Unlike Ray, my entire paper model collection can not be carried in my backpack on a Plane. lol sorry Ray.

Any event closer to me is a bonus for travel, but I am honestly more interested
in meeting a few new faces...and a different location might guaranty that.

Holding an event near a major attraction would also be a bonus.
I love the fact that I got to visit the Smithsonian Air Museum (twice) while at the IPMC in Virginia.

I really want to do the USAF Museum in Dayton again, so I would definitely show up to any event in that area.
Bait me with that type of local attraction, and I'll be open to any regional event
within driving distance.

If I can help in any way with the production of another event, just let me know.
Obviously my location hinders me interferes with my involvement in a US event
but I will do what I can.

I'd go with the Space Freighter. We've seen everything else.

Dayton would be interesting. I haven't been there in close to twenty years now, so I'm sure there's been some changes.
Hopefully I'll be retired by then so I'll have some free time to travel.
