Sorry I missed it, but we left PA earlier than I anticipated. Sounds like a great place to be working!

What a great archive - I can see I'm going to spend many hours watching the videos. I watched Col. David M. Glantz's lecture on the GPW - if you believe the Russian agitprop you would think he had horns and a tail - the reality is much better.

Thanks for posting the link to the group.

I'm curious about the lecture on Soviet Women pilots - did they serve mostly in the PVO (Protective Air Force) or VVS (Military Air Force)?

Regards,

Charlie

The video of the lecture on Russian Women Pilots is now available in the Carlisle archive - http://www.carlisle.army.mil/ahec/me...eo_archive.cfm

Oh, how I wish I had not missed that. I watched the video and Pennington was so engaging. I'll bet she had her book for sale, too. I'm going to get that one. If it's half as good as her oratory, I am sure it will be a great read.

thanks for the update on this Don.

Thanks for the post, Charlie and the comments, Major D. I'm afraid I had lost the bubble on this thread.

Last night, we had a great lecture on the 1863 Draft Riots. It will eventually come on line, too.

Leaving the office now. Do the Gettysburg Staff Ride tomorrow.

Don
