Luke Day 2016
This weekend is Luke Day at Luke Air Force Base here in the Phoenix area.
Of course I had to go. First is the prerequisite warning A taste of Tora! Tora! Tora! This year, Sentimental Journey participated (circled in red) Here she is on the ground Bring on the airplaney awesomness! The Japanese planes that participated (I dunno what they are, so any help is appreciated) These ones I think are Zero's, which I overheard were replicas More after the break |

This isn't my picture, my cell phone camera isn't that good
I never found the P-38 on the ground. They mentioned something about a Planes of Fame airshow that it was supposed to be at, so it must have high tailed it over to Chino. Jack Links Screaming Sasquatch was also there, and I got some video, but never saw it on the ground to take pictures (I wanted to get detail shots for model too) |

Quick question:
Same type of plane? I'm starting to think so, and I found the pic of the label, which calls it a Nanchang CJ-6A Chujaio. (anybody wanna take up the challenge of finding a 3-view?) Last edited by murphyaa; 04-03-2016 at 02:03 AM. |

Oops. I knew the Warhawk. IT was the only one I recognized. Just forgot to label it.

Most of the planes that are in Tora are either BT-13s or modified T-6 Texans.
The Draken A-4 is a contract support plane for Draken International, a private contractor that flies support missions (mostly red air forces) for military training. They have a huge contract with the Marines and Navy, and oNE with the AF as well i think. |
