Locomotive parade 2016

Hello all! In Slovakia we have few events like this. Locomotive parade 2016 (Rušnoparáda 2016) it is a regular annual event. Everything takes place in Kosice (2nd big city in Slovakia).
People come from different countries like: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Austria, to see rare machines. The organizer is the city and the railway company of Slovakia (ZSSK) in cooperation with Youth railway (Detská).
The new rare (and functional) locomotive in collection of Youth railway is steam locomotive Kurtwig.

Great looking show.

Have trouble imaging an event like that here in the US, both from a cooperative approach and a legal liability aspect. Can already imagine the lawyers and insurance people lining up with hands out. Yeah, I'm really cynical about that anymore.

I think it's great when people can get really close to trains and experience them close up

The size and smell of the old steam trains is amazing.

In Blighty they were shutting down whole sections of track because a few people wanted to get a close look at the iconic Flying Scotsman

I work on the railway and regularly venture out on open lines. Getting too close isn't something you are able to do twice.
