24th Annual Military Vehicle Show, Phoenix AZ 2015-01-24 Could use some id help for a
couple. Didn't get them in my notes or can't read them, so could use some reference for the 1st 2. Also if I misidentified something post a correction for me, please. The white Jeep with the cold weather cab is I think a civilian CJ3. Not sure for the nomenclature for the cargo trailer. 1942 Dodge is a WC55 in this configuration of a M6 Motor Carriage Gum with a 37mm. They were build from 1942-45, but calling it a 42 due to the light blue serial numbering since I think that went away by 43. Anyway enjoy.
Here's the link for the whole folder. https://whulsey.smugmug.com/Military...nual/i-knM7Bbg |

The first one looks like a variant of the M113 APC. The second is an M939 truck.

Willygoat, thanks. I did have a M939 listed, but couldn't figure out which it was referring to. Need to be more careful in my note taking if nothing else so I can read them a year later. Thought the APC was some variety of M113. Oh well, if somebody wants to know exactly they can go from there.

The first vehicle image looks like a British FV 432 - roughly contemporary with the M113.

Thanks for that i.d., Charlie. I noted that it looked vaguely like the U.S. M39 armored utility vehicle (M18 tank destroyer chassis), but the actual identification stumped me.
Always glad to see your excellent photograph images, Wayne! Don |

Thanks Charlie, that explains the British flag on the front. And Willy you're right on that M939 looks like it was used in both tractor version and a half dozen varieties of straight trucks.
Need to head off and make more corrections on the file. Anybody catch anything else? |
