We'll miss you, Greg! We will arrange to have a grilled cheese in your honor - well away from the models, of course, and will think of you last year working on that armored train and the P-61.
Not to mention you and Robin in the front row during the Solemn Banquet Don |

2016 Paper Modelers at Army Heritage Days – Day 1
In spite of rain throughout the weekend and the discovery after we had set up our paper models display that, due to new construction, the roof over our site leaked (think about it), we had a great time at the Army Heritage Days event 21-22 May 2016 at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. http://www.carlisle.army.mil/ahec/index.cfm
1. Rick Steffers (Rickstef) set up and awaiting the first visitors. 2. Miles Linaberry, who sends out the Forum birthday wishes. 3. Some of our handouts. These Humvees and M113s are courtesy of Dave Winfield and the jeep courtesy of the DGA models gang. 4. Miles’s portable workbench. 5 and 6. Some of Miles’s models. 7. Anne McCombs and her display with Don Weeks (rockpaperscissors) to her right and Jack McCombs behind her. 8. More handouts, courtesy of Scott Fyn and Fiddlers Green. We also had handouts from Cliff Button and Paper Tiger Armaments and from Ryan Short and LBirds. Moments later, the stand was inserted and an actual little lighthouse built by Anne appeared. 9-13. Don Weeks (rockpaperscissors) and his models. 14. Lil and me. 15. Lil’s models. (Isaac – Yeah. I know. Coffee near paper models. But we had already been rained on and dropped on by birds, so the risk seemed worth it for some caffeine.) More later, Don |

Continued
1. Two masters of the art: John Delland Kevin Stephens.
2-4. Kevin’s Models, including his award-winning Dragon Wagon. 5-6. At the 2010 event, Kevin brought his newly-built John Dell-designed B-24D-10-CF, “Princess,” serial 42-63962, which was an aircraft of the 506th Bomb Squadron, 44thBomb Group. By coincidence, veterans of the 44th BG were there on that day, so Kevin asked them to sign the model and then presented it to USAHEC, where it is now a treasured artifact that must be handled only by exhibits specialists (Kevin and John are no longer allowed to touch the model). Princess was brought out to be displayed on Saturday. The original event: Paper Modelers at Army Heritage Day 2010 Carlisle, PA 7-13. John’s models, most in 1/72nd, including a Fortress captured by the Japanese, but also 1/48 and one 1/32 bird. We hang the big Fortress from a special coat hangar, known to the USAHEC staff as “John Dell’s Airplane Hanger.” 14-15. Annual Solemn Banquet. Left to right: Kevin Stephens, Rick Steffers, Lil Boose, Don Boose, Don Weeks, Anne McCombs, Jack (Wrong Way Corrigan) McCombs, Miles Linnaberry. More later, Don |

More images coming tonight. I forgot to mention that:
1. In Post #15, Image 7, among the models in front of Anne is her Bruno scissors-and-planes "Itsy bitsy teeny weenie yellow paper Lamborghini" (directly behind the Vickers Valiant V-bomber). 2. In the background of the images of the Solemn Banquet, directly behind Don Weeks, you will see the Canon paper model of an elephant that Anne built and we presented to Joy Paradise, owner of the Carlisle Thai Cuisine restaurant, which has been the venue for our banquet since 2009 and used to be called "The White Elephant."
