Nice to share the pictures of all these great model builds. The small ships are very impressive. In fact everything is impressive. Good to see some faces as well!
Enjoy your modeling guys, and Isaac, have a safe trip back home (or on to your next assignment??). Same goes for Theo, traveling back to Israel. I transported my F104G to a modeling exhibition last year and found it a very delicate model to move about. All these small fragile parts, especially the pitot tube at the nose cone. Next time I make such a feature from a removable metal pin, slid into a tube hidden in the nose. I think it has been broken off a dozen times during the making. WEll, off to beat the heat today, it's going to be 35C in NL - highly unusual. Cheers, Erik |

For me it is usually not a big deal to transport models. I have a large flat plastic bin and I stuff it with soft delicate tissue paper and place the model in it. But as you said, small items like pitot tubes and doors may and will be damaged. A friend of mine in the plastic world actually builds soft cradles that suspends the models in a large cardboard box. Anyhow, since I travel from place to place often, all my models are then boxed up and go to storage and they get damaged because the movers sometimes toss the boxes around. Regarding my next move, I am now counting down my time in Toronto. My last day here is the end of July. I then return to the USA ( Cincinnati ) and from there I either stay in place or go to the Boston area for a short time, then go to Asia. Plans are still up in the air so to speak. Isaac

Thanks Gary
Gary
I had fun with you visiting today one last time before I pack out of Toronto. Hope the vacuforming tutorial was helpful. Looking forward to your build of Yoav's F-4E Phantom using the canopy I gave you and the plug should you need it as well to form your own. Here is my build log for the Phantom: F-4E; Yoav Hozmi model Vacuforming: Remember: - Purchase a good simple vacuform box - get the 0.010 thick plastic clear sheet from KS metal - a good vacuum cleaner or a shop vac with enough suction - 2 bricks to place in the oven for the frame to be suspended on 350 deg F and 30-45 seconds in the oven. make sure the shop vac sucks and turn it on before you remove the hot clear plastic from the oven. I purchased my box from Warmplastic company which is no longer in business. They made the Kingston line. Eliot R Brown » Blog Archive » www.warmplastic.com here is a link to their instruction: http://www.warmplastic.com/KVW%20Use%20Instructions.pdf Here is Yoav's You Tube video on his method . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH9b1mWFFYg Here is Yaron's write up in the Israeli forum with You tube links ( just look at the pictures, you don't need the words: https://www.fresh.co.il/vBulletin/sh...d.php?t=583770 Here is a Polish thread for making clear canopies without a vacuform machine. OK, but I don't like it too much: http://www.konradus.com/forum/read.p...filtr=3&page=1 The Pledge Future clear acrylic is optional. Suchoi 7 kit I like: here is the Model-Kom Suchoi-7 kit I recommend building. It is simpler and easier than the Hobby Model kit. A link to my build here: Suchoi Su-7 Egyptian Air Force Model-Kom kit in 1/33 scale You can purchase it , canopy, frames and wheels on the GPM.pl site: https://sklep.gpm.pl/modele-kartonow.../33/su-7-egipt Take care and be in touch.
