Naturcraft, eh. Would be interesting to see its Airworthiness Certificate. Man, those are some handsome machines. F7F looks to have just the slightest hint of green in its sea blue, which is my understanding from Dad of what the hue was supposed to be.
F4F in there contrasted with P-51 and P-40 is in the same flavor of a Saab J-29 sitting next to an F-84 (yes, I know they are some of those unaesthetically noisy ones)

Tora! Tora! Tora!
I will start the inflight photos with the CAF Tora Tora Tora display.
Some of the pics do not express how close we were to the pyrotechnics. We were directly across from them. Close enough, you could feel the heat and concussion as they went off. For those who are not familiar with this display, the Japanese aircraft are represented by modified T-6 aircraft and others. Enough rambling. I will insert a caveat for most of the inflight pictures. The weather turned sour about the time the flying started, and I had to deal with mostly cloudy skies. With that, I did run the pictures through an auto level stage, just to lighten them up.

700 photos. Very impressive. Remember back in the days when all you got was rolls of film with 12/24/36 photos? And it took a week to process them to see if any of the photos turned out? Glad you had fun. I wouldn't mind seeing a few Grumman Widgeon photos posted.
By the way, I spent Wednesday in the National Museum of the US Air Force in Dayton. I'm going to the Navy Aviation Museum in Pensacola tomorrow. I'll probably end up with a few hundred photos to go through, also. |

Outstanding images. The CAF SB2C in USS Franklin air group markings with the wheels coming up is wonderful!
Many thanks for taking the time and trouble to post all these images. Don |
