Funny,I was just reading Ospreys "Aces of Republic of China" and P-26 is mentioned there number of times along with Hawk III and some other planes.
That bomb rack looks a lot like Cooper bomb rack from WW1.Is that was it is or same idea used for different bombs? |

Since the 1970s I haven't yet been able to offer specific definition why but that airplane is attractive to me.
Huh, the word spunky just popped in. Just went and found the museum's website ... oohhh if I had the health and income to make the trip .... A bunch of favorites - Grumman Duck, Bristol F.2 replica, Constellation, Northrop N9M, Martin 4-0-4, F-89, BD-5, Ryan Fireball, several racing planes I have read about in the aviation magazines Dad has gotten over the decades, T-33, F4B, Douglas D-558-II Skyrocket,DH Vampire, Convair 240, Rutan Long EZ, A/B-26 (variant), Grumman F-11 Tiger.

Boeing P-26A
Howdy Bloomohio,
The following is from a friend, he refers to Yanks, another fine air museum located next door: Bob If you mean the model 10 Electra (like Earhart flew) no...though there was one that lived in a hanger there at Chino. Yanks does have a Lockheed Model 12 Electra Junior, which is an ex-military C-40. There is another privately owned model 12 at Chino as well. As you know, Lockeed built the Electra series as feeder-liners. The 10 Electra, 12 Electra Junior and the 14 Electra Senior (which later became the Hudson/Lodestar). The biggest visible differences between the 10 and 12 is the shape of the cowlings, the number of windows and the shape of the vertical tails (the 10 is more rounded and the 12 more pointed). |

Ahh! Thank you so much for these photos. One of my favorites of all time. I had the good fortune to see it (same one?) at the Chico Air Show a few years ago.
Also, many years ago when PMI was in business, I bought a nice 1/33 paper kit from them which I have yet to build. I may be wrong, but I believe it is the same kit that is sold today in three different liveries by Digital Navy.
